Background
Mice with mutations in the obese gene that block the synthesis of leptin are obese and diabetic, and have reduced activity, metabolism, and body temperature. The expression of leptin mRNA is restricted to adipose tissue.

The recombinant human Fc human Leptin fusion protein was produced in HEK 293 cells and purified by protein A. The Fc fusion protein is secreted with the sequence of human Leptin (amino acids 22-167) representing the full length mature Ob of human origin and fused with a human IgG1 Fc tag at the N-terminus.
Purity: >95% by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions
Formulation: 0.2 µM filtered solution of 100 mM HEPES, 0.2% sodium acetate, pH 6.
Endotoxin Level: Less than 1 EU/ug of protein as determined by LAL method.
