MB103-11: Cell and Tissue Direct PCR Kit
Background
Cell and Tissue Direct PCR Kit = Rapid Cell and Tissue Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Catalog No. MB103-10) + 2x PCR PreMix, with dye (Catalog No. MB067-EQ2-100). The kits and reagents are routinely used in mutation detection, SNP genotyping, and target detection in transgenic animals.
Rapid genomic DNA extraction:
Step 1:
A) Mouse tails: Place 2-3 mm mouse tail in a 0.5 ml microcentrifuge tube containing 100 ul solution A.
B) Cultured cells: Add 1×10^4 – 1×10^5 cell suspension in <10 ul to a 0.5 ml microcentrifuge tube containing 100 ul solution A or add 100 ul solution A to a cell pellet that contains 1x10^4 - 1x10^5 cells.
Step 2:
Place the tube in a thermocycler and heat at 95°C for 5 min. Cool the tube to room temperature. Add 10 ul solution B and vortex briefly. Extracted genomic DNA is now ready for use as PCR temperate or for longer term storage at -20°C.
Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
